↳ ❂ ↰ Riku didn’t even need to finish the offer (or make one in the first place) before Kaeto reached out to pet the kitten, scratching between its ears. His eyes sparkled in a way only a cat could elicit from him, added to the fact that he hadn’t gotten the chance to see one in a while; he didn’t find stray cats very often anymore, and pet stores were hit or miss. So while he still argued with his guardian about what it would take for him to earn the right to get a cat, his chances to interact with them were few and far between.
Ah, cats, such wonderful creatures, and so relatable too. Equally social and equally lone, beings who would rather purr louder to mask their own pain than seek help for it. If Kaeto were anything but human, he’d definitely be a cat (not to mention that they were so cute).
Surprisingly, he paid enough attention to Riku to hear what she had to say. “If it’d be trouble for you to take her to your friend’s house, I wouldn’t mind babysitting for the night,” he said, almost as though entranced by the beauty of the furry creature. He sounded distant, at the very least.
