She didn’t waste even a second, grabbing the bag of chips with a fierce and hasty grip. When she was hungry, she did tend to be a little more… fast. Mostly because she wanted to avoid others hearing her tummy rumble from the lack of food, and mostly because hunger always distracted her from what she aimed to do. With a loud ‘strrrrap’ she opened the plastic bag, and—

—Promptly stuffed her mouth with chips, an handful of crispy junk food filling her mouth. Frankly, with her cheeks puffed out while chewing, she kind of looked like an hamster; and a sigh of relief was given amidst rumorous ‘crunk crunk crunk’s of her teeth destroying the chips.

“ Nwwvrr?? Ywu nwer– uh! is what she said, looking slightly surprised. Please, Marzanna. Manners. Throwing down half of the lump of food that was clogging her mouth, she spoke again, I mean— you never had sacher torte? How is that even… POSSIBLE?! Oh, dear! I’ll definitely have to bake you a real good one, then! now the blonde, hungry hamster is smiling. Whilst chewing, of course.

↳ ❂ ↰  It was an almost cute sight, a reminder that people weren’t always graceful, and Kaeto took the pause to study her a bit more. Pretty, but with odd-coloured eyes–aside from heterochromia (which wasn’t so rare that it’d draw question from him), black and white? He considered that they could be contacts, but even then, it was an odd look for someone to choose. Oh well. Commenting on someone’s appearance besides as a compliment tended to be rude, so he wouldn’t say anything about it.

“Indeed, I haven’t,” he confirmed. Between being a child, practically a slave, and then a science experiment, he’d never quite gotten the chance to buy some for himself. Even with the vague freedom he had during the day, he didn’t partake in sweets or junk food often, preferring a healthier diet. It’d be his dessert for the month if she did make it for him. “Not everyone is lucky enough for such delicacies, but mine seems to be changing.”

An entire homemade cake in exchange for a store-bought bag of chips didn’t seem like a fair trade; however, food was food, and he wasn’t selfless enough to deny the offer or insist on a fairer exchange.

Ah, but no, no, I’ve met a lot of birds that don’t—- the sole mention of chips made the goddess stop in her tracks; it’s evident that if even her love for animals was won over by a bag of chips, she was really hungry. And usually she wouldn’t give in so easily for junk food, but… right now, the thought of crunchy, friable oil-dipped industrial chips was ever so tempting–

“ …Hmm. Well. Well– if… you’re willing to give it, I’ll gladly take it! Yes! Do you want anything in exchange? I can bake you a sacher torte, if you want, darling~! is it normal that some people completely forget what they were going on about after seeing or hearing about food? ( and what is this ever-so-subtle CORRUPTION she’s trying to slip into her honey-coated speech?? )

↳ ❂ ↰  Circumstance played a rather large role in whether or not birds tried to steal a person’s food–namely, whether or not it had already eaten. If it wasn’t hungry, there’d be no point. There was probably some comment about bird metabolisms to be made, but since she appeared to drop the topic at the mention of chips, he would too.

Reaching into his bag, he pulled out the aforementioned chips and held them out to her. Besides the fact that he’d already eaten, he tended to stay away from junk food, so they would’ve been given away to another person anyway. “Here you go.” Her offer was incredibly specific, so much so that Kaeto needed a few moments to figure out how to respond. “And sure. I’ve never had sacher torte before, so it could be interesting.”

I love doves—they’re practically one of my favourite animals—but they tend to be a little… How do you say this… they’re profiteers. As in, everytime I end up interacting with them, all of my bread is gone, if I have it. I am very, very hungry, and I do not know wether getting to talk to those lovelies doves was worth of my now screeching stomach.

One wouldn’t have doubts on this matter, but apparently, Marzanna would.

↳ ❂ ↰  “A lot of birds tend to do that, especially ones you find in cities. Animals look out for themselves, y’know. If they see food they want, they’re gonna go after it.” That was why he never brought his own food along when he went to pet stray cats. Sometimes he bought them treats, but never anything he wanted for himself. “I have an extra bag of chips if you want it, though. They’re just the plain flavour.”
