[ 💀 ] ❝ Hm…well, I can. ❞

Of course, he was merely there as company of the actual scientists from his lab, he wouldn’t have any authority to search the place. But the device the boy had on his wrist was obvious of the highest technology. He’d picked a lot of devices before, but none really came close to that thing.

Then again, what isn’t possible for a monster like him? It would simply take a few minutes at most to take it apart.

❝ Though I really wonder what that device is for. Who knows if you’ll kill anyone once that thing is off of you. ❞

↳ ❂ ↰  “If I wanted to do something like that, a bracelet wouldn’t be enough to stop me. Also, one condition to the agreement: please do it without actually touching me. Bets off if you do.”

And considering how close the limiter came to his skin, the condition wasn’t exactly fair; if he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that the man could get it off, maybe he’d be more reasonable about that part, but as it stood, he wasn’t going to loosen up.

In all likelihood, someone would notice the exchange and break it up before any progress could be made.

↳ ❂ ↰  Somehow they’d ended up crossing paths as Kaeto looked for a quiet place to do his schoolwork and Ranpo was evidently lost. So they found a bench in some park, and while the teen filled in answers he already knew, he listened out of one ear to whatever the elder had to say–he also had some candy he didn’t want, which he figured he’d give to a better home. All in all, it was a far better turnout than just sitting there by himself.

Eventually, they lapsed into silence, and Kaeto didn’t pay much mind to it. Advanced classes meant extra work; despite not being beneficial to him, he wouldn’t have good grades if he didn’t complete it, so with a few mumbles about how he wished his hands could move as fast as his thoughts, he did just that. Somewhere lost on the gentle breeze was an apology to his elder for the fact that it must have been so boring to watch.

What he didn’t expect after a few long minutes was a weight falling onto his shoulder. He tensed, instinctively expecting pain to follow the contact, but none did. After a moment, he exhaled and spared a glance to his side, where Ranpo had decided that it was a good time to sleep. Fortunately, the teen hadn’t flinched away from it. That might’ve been a interesting discussion. His hat had gotten pushed off to the side as a result, and Kaeto reached up, albeit shakily, to straighten it out so it wouldn’t fall off.

Then with a sigh, he went back to work, careful not to move around too much lest he disturb the elder.
