He couldn’t quite tell if the other was mocking him,
simply UNCARING, or if he was just a STOIC individual. He knew he was at fault, and he knew that he was a clumsy IDIOT sometimes, but he didn’t think someone would still be a bit rude when he was trying to make sure he was alright. When he mentioned that he needed an evaluation, he simply shook his head, lifting his hand to wave it a bit DISMISSIVELY.
“I’m fine, the boxes are more important.”
His job and tasks always came before himself. It’s how he always was. And now he completely FAILED this task. He shifted to kneel down by the boxes and started to sort through them to check for any damages. Thankfully, only a few books fell out, but he did have to check every single one just in case.
“I apologize for the inconvenience I may have caused you.”
↳ ❂ ↰ All of those were true. He cared nothing for the well-being of a stranger, was emotionally detached, and felt more irritated that he’d been delayed than he felt sorry for this guy’s mishap. Nothing more than vague disinterest showed in his expression, however, so good luck figuring that out based solely on that.
“Pretty sure the books aren’t bleeding. The ground’s not exactly clean either, so I wouldn’t be surprised if those scrapes got infected ‘cause you put off taking care of them.” Kaeto went back to scribbling in the answers on his homework as he spoke. Why was coursework so tedious? He could practically feel his brain cells dying with each word–the exact opposite effect it was supposed to have. “Whoever you’re running errands for can wait a few minutes for you to clean yourself up.”
It’d be better than staring at a dirty kid who didn’t value his own health.
