It took her a moment to process the fact that this boy was speaking to her, and the moment she did, her face flushed every shade of timid, nervous pink it could. Her arms wrapped as tightly around the stack of books within her arms as they could manage, shoving their sharp edges into her chest, as she took an instinctive step away from the other. Had she done something to prompt him to believe she was an angry person? That, and a thousand other questions raced through her raging mind while she stared, wide-eyed at him.  And fear followed her curiosity; paranoia always lingered in the back of her head whenever anyone spoke to her. She had always tried to make herself as small as possible, and never did she do anything that might draw attention to herself; terrified of doing anything that might expose what she was.

Bowing her head quickly, she pursed her lips. “I’m sorry, I have no idea what you’re talking about,” She blurted out far louder and faster than she had intended.

↳ ❂ ↰  Well that was no good. Had he done something to scare her? Promoting random acts of violence could be a bit intimidating, he supposed, and he wondered whether or not to back away from it; however, doing so would be for her sake rather than his own. Although anyone else probably wouldn’t have anymore luck than he did, the bracelet was Kaeto-proof, not necessarily everyone-proof. The researchers had to take it off sometimes in order to repair or upgrade it, but they were always so careful to keep him under control when they did. Oh how he disliked people being able to outsmart him (though he was certain they could only do it with Sherry’s help).

“It’s a project of mine,” he explained, slower this time. “This thing is supposed to be indestructible, and I like to prove things like that wrong, so I’m trying out every avenue possible in order to accomplish my goal. If you need any kind of stress relief, beating inanimate objects up is a good way to go. Just be sure not to injure me.”
